John David Payne, 44, of Owensboro passed away suddenly Friday, April 12, 2024, at his residence. The Daviess County native was born August 14, 1979, to David Payne and the late Terry Thomas Payne. John graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School, class of 1997. He attended OCTC and received a certificate in Electrical Technology. John was employed at TTMA for almost ten years as a Team Leader. He enjoyed tent camping with his wife and kids and traveling anywhere, especially the Smokey Mountains and Gatlinburg. John loved making people laugh. He also loved “kettle cooking” in big pots and kettles making soups and burgoo.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of twenty years, Kathy Beaver Payne; two daughters, Abby and Lily Payne; father, David Payne all of Owensboro; sister, Sara Payne of Evansville; Kathy’s parents, Richard and Jamita Beaver of Hawesville; several nieces and nephews.
The service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 16 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with same day visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
