Joseph Addison Foster, 90, of Philpot, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Signature Health Care at Hermitage. He was born on August 29, 1933 in Habit, KY to the late John & Mary Helen Wright Foster. Joe was a member of Dawson Baptist Church, where he was a man of faith, serving as Chairman of the Deacons and Sunday School Director for many years. He owned and operated Foster’s Grocery for 39 years. He was an avid walker and loved talking to people and getting to know their history.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, James R. Foster and William Earl Foster.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Betty Sue Norris Foster, four sons, Larry Joe (Geleigha) Foster, Garry (Wendy) Foster, John Foster, and Steven (Tina) Foster; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brothers & sisters-in-law “The Norris Family”.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Dawson Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Bratcher officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 on Monday and after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Dawson Baptist Church. Cecil Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
