Sharone Towery 75, of Island, Kentucky passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024 at her home near Island. Sharone Faye Woosley was born March 5, 1949 in Bremen, Kentucky to the late Nelbert and Betty Sue Cotton Woosley and was married to James Issac Towery on August 2, 1986. A cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her life was a testament to the love and care she gave to her family and the joy she found in her many interests.
As a homemaker, Sharone poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home where laughter and love were always in abundance. Her caring nature and nurturing spirit were the cornerstones of her family’s happiness and well-being. Sharone’s passion for life was evident in the way she embraced her interests with enthusiasm. An avid gardener, she found peace and solace in tending to her plants and flowers, nurturing them to bloom with the same love and attention she gave to her family.
Fishing was another of Sharone’s favorite pastimes, a hobby that allowed her to enjoy the tranquility of nature while engaging in a sport she loved. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she took great pleasure in cooking for her family, turning every meal into a celebration of togetherness. Sharone was also a dedicated fan of the University of Kentucky Basketball team, cheering them on with fervor and never missing a game.
In addition to her hobbies, Sharone had a special place in her heart for her pets. She adored her cats and dogs, treating them with the same tenderness and affection as if they were members of the family. Her pets, in turn, provided her with companionship and comfort, always by her side.
Sharone was a member of Life Harvest Ministries in Island, where she found spiritual fulfillment and a community of friends who shared her faith. Her involvement in the church was a reflection of her belief in kindness, service, and the importance of fellowship.
In addition to her parents, Sharone was preceded in death by a daughter, Christy Davis.
Sharone is survived by her husband of 37 years, James Towery; a son, Bryan Wilson of Perry, Florida; a daughter, Cheryl Alexander (Dan) of Owensboro; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 25, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Sharone’s family from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Monday at Musters in Calhoun.
