Jerry G. Keown, 80, of Knottsville, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, peacefully at home. Jerry was born in Hancock County on September 18, 1943, to the late Della and Les Keown. He retired from NSA/Century. Jerry’s pride and joy was his family. Anyone that knew Jerry knew he was an avid outdoorsman. Everyone loved his barbeque, fish fries and that he loved to throw big parties. The best of all was his storytelling of all his adventures
Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Evelyn Walker Keown; his son Jim Heep (Michelle Fendel); his daughter, Melanie (Lewis) Montgomery; grandchildren, Ashley Heep, Jessica Heep, Dakota (Allison) Montgomery, Morgan (Jacob) Wells; 9 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way and 1 great-great-grandchild; brother Gary (Retha) Keown; sister-in-law, Sandi Minor; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, KY. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 21 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
