A major educational summit is coming to Owensboro this June, targeted at showcasing practices that can create meaningful change in communities across Kentucky. The Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence will host its 2024 Groundswell Summit & Annual Meeting from June 10-12 at the Owensboro Convention Center.

“At the heart of the Prichard Committee’s mission is a belief in the power of community to enact meaningful change,” said Brigitte Blom, President/CEO of the Prichard Committee. “Owensboro’s leadership in community-driven solutions is clear, and we are excited to showcase their efforts to improve outcomes for learners during the Groundswell Summit & Annual Meeting.”

The Summit will feature a program of distinguished speakers, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities, all designed to foster dialogue and action around improving education.

Joe Berry from the Public Life Foundation highlighted the Prichard Committee’s long-standing role in leading education innovation in Kentucky.

“In recent years, our Foundation has had the good fortune to work alongside the Prichard team to build a more robust early childhood education environment in Greater Owensboro. This Summit will provide a unique opportunity to learn from creative and passionate leaders who are creating lasting change in their own communities,” Berry said.

The Summit will bring together both policy and local practice discussions while elevating local innovation that improves education and quality of life outcomes.

“I am eager to highlight the transformative work we’re undertaking in education across Kentucky,” said Prichard Committee Board Chair Clay Ford. “Together, with families, educators and community leaders, we will foster community-driven, educational excellence and explore impactful solutions for the challenges facing our state. I’m excited to welcome everyone to Owensboro, where we’ll not only share successes but also collaboratively forge paths to elevate education statewide.”
