The Greenwell Foundation, headquartered in Owensboro, is accepting applications for its 2024 grant cycle. The mission of the organization is to “support programs that offer assistance to the poor, disadvantaged, and most-challenged citizens of Owensboro and Daviess County that will bring positive and lasting changes to their lives.”

All grants awarded by the Greenwell Foundation support 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. These grants, ranging from $5,000 to $25,000, are allocated for 1 year and help facilitate renovation projects, sustain programming, and procure necessary equipment and supplies.

Since its inception in 2008, the Foundation has awarded more than $748,000 in grants. Among the recipients of recent Greenwell Foundation grants are organizations such as Crossroads, the Daniel Pitino Shelter, Dream Riders of Kentucky, Fresh Start for Women, Girls Inc., Habitat for Humanity, the Owensboro Family YMCA, My Sisters Keeper, Puzzle Pieces, the Help Office, United Way of the Ohio Valley, and Wendell Foster.
