Tommy England

August 27, 1942 - March 9, 2024

Tommy England 81, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun.  Thomas Wayne England was born August 27, 1942 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late George Tommie & Gladys Marie Coomes England, was married to Brenda Calhoun on April 28, 1962. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, David Vanover.

Tommy was a 1961 Graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School and a lifelong member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Calhoun.  He retired as a foreman from the State Highway Department after 27 years of service.  Tommy enjoyed being with his family and friends, collecting and pulling antique tractors, camping at Diamond Lake, and was locally famous for cooking BBQ chickens.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Brenda England; sons, Dwayne England (Tonya) of Owensboro, Scott England (Anita) of Calhoun, Steven England (Tammy) of Elberfield, IN, Jonathan England (Summer) of Abbeville, AL; daughters, Marcy Vanover (Troy) of Pleasant Ridge, Tracy Rafferty (Mike) of Beaver Dam; 21 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Vanover of Owensboro.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel.  Friends may visit with Tommy’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel.

Tommy’s service will be live-streamed at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday.
