Connie Simon Hood, 86, of Owensboro, passed away on March 10, 2024. She was born February 7, 1938, in Curdsville, Kentucky, to the late Thomas Simon and Gertrude Coomes. Connie was a homemaker and attended Blessed Mother Catholic Church.
Connie was a proud member of the Daughters of Isabelle, Owensboro Civitan, and Rosary Makers Club. In idle time, she enjoyed playing cards and feeding birds and squirrels. Connie’s proudest accomplishment was raising her five children.
Along with her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Newell Hood, eight of her siblings, and her daughter-in-law, Tracy Hood.
Those left to cherish Connie’s memory are her children, James (Marilyn Holder) Hood, Beverly (Richard) Nance, Jo Nell (Chuck) Reed, Darrell Hood, and Nikki (Jason) Adamson, fourteen Grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and her siblings, Sister Mary Thomas, Kathy Simon, and Billy Simon.
Mass of a Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a prayer time of 6:00 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to HPC – Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathen’s Crossing, Owensboro, Kentucky 42301. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
