Marvin Louis Wells met the Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at his home. He was born on October 6, 1956 in Hammond IN, the first of 7 children born to the late Edward and Mary Joan Wells. Marvin was a member of the Catholic Church. He graduated from Trinity High School and joined the Army where he was honorably discharged. He also served in the National Guard. He worked for the state road department for almost 20 years. He enjoyed watching TV and movies, playing the guitar and piano, spending time with his family and his friends at the Roosevelt House.
In addition to his parents, Marvin is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Arlene Edge Wells and brothers, Bruce and Doug Wells.
Marvin is survived by his children, Angela (Joe) Mattingly of Owensboro, Karen (Chris) Onstott of Philpot, Marla (David) Ball of English, IN and Crystal (Andy) Mayfield of Whitesville; siblings, Brian (Vicky) Wells of New Jersey, Rene (Paul) Weber of Florida, Keith (Bernie) Wells of Calhoun and Dwayne Wells of Owensboro; 8 grandchildren, Bailey Onstott, Katie, Mollie and Torrie Mattingly, Jade and Jacob Darding, Isaac and Lucas Mayfield; many aunts uncles, nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be said on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville.
