Vickie Cooper Boone, 68, of Owensboro, danced through the gates of Heaven on the morning of March 1, 2024, in the comfort of her home. Vickie was born to the late Clarence and Daisy Cooper.
Vickie was a very loving person who prided herself on being a homemaker for the family she so cherished. She was the glue that held her loved ones together. Vickie was a giving soul who kept her door open to anyone who needed a helping hand. In her spare time, Vickie enjoyed being outside, in nature, where she could garden and appreciate wildlife and animals. When indoors, Vickie was a talented painter, loved dancing, enjoyed a wide variety of music, playing cards, and was a fan of Fear Factor. Vickie’s favorite thing to do was to spend time with her cherished great-grandchildren.
Vickie was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Wayne Boone, her brother, Roger Cooper, and her sister, Linda Cooper.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, James (Tonya) Boone, LuLu Boone, Donna (Byron) Self, and Stacey (David) Boone; her grandchildren, Courtney Rice, Heaven Boone, Michael Boone, and Trace Self; her great-grandchildren, Zoe Sidener, Grayson Boone, Waylon Kingsbury, Braelyn Boone, Lakeland Self, Colton Boone, and Willow Self; and her siblings, Terry Cooper, Julia Galloway, and Jeannie Mattingly.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the funeral home.
