Mary Rosalia “Rosie” Meserve, 86, of Knottsville, passed away at her home on Sunday, February 25, 2024, with her loving family at her side. Rosie was born on September 4, 1937 to the late Thomas Hugh and Catherine Beatrice “Bea” Mattingly Millay. She was a member of St. William Catholic Church. Rosie loved reading, cooking, shopping and spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandson, Leland, who was the light of her life. When younger she also enjoyed spoiling her nieces and chasing her young nephews around in order to grab a kiss. Rosie was a mother and military wife, living in many places including 6 mainland states, Hawaii and Saudi Arabia. Later in life she was the manager of The Party Paper Place for 17 years. She then retired from AK Steel as a smoke reader. She had a generous heart and was a prayerful person.

In addition to her parents, Rosie is preceded in death by her siblings, Delephine Roby, John Millay, Betty Payne, Buck Millay, Marguerite Lanham; in-laws, Wayne Harley, Jackie Higdon, Beck Roby, Bill Payne, Kenny Lanham and JoNell Millay; nieces and nephews, Nicholas Brown, Timmy Payne, Laurie Lanham and Brenda Simmons

Rosie is survived by her daughter, Deanna (Mike) Isbill, adopted daughter, Deborah Tong; grandchildren Leland Isbill, Lorne Isbill and Alysha (Robbie) Winkler; great-grandchildren, Peyton Walker and Pierston Isbill; siblings, Claude (Irma) Millay, Stella Higdon, Hubert (Becky) Millay, Clara (Bob) Brown, Tom (Wilda) Millay, Agnes Harley, Mike (Marty) Millay and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be said on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 12:00 noon at St. William Catholic Church in Knottsville with burial service at St. William Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with prayers at 6:30 p.m. and on Friday, March 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, KY.
