Daviess County and Owensboro Catholic both took to the road and came back with a win while Trinity suffered a tough loss at home.
DCHS 91, Logan Co. 49
Daviess County had 5 players score in the double digits in their 91-49 blowout victory over Logan County.
The Panthers took control of the game early as they made 4 threes on their way to a 26-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. They kept up their momentum in the second quarter with 5 more threes to go with their 24 points. DCHS led 50-27 at halftime. Daviess County didn’t let up in the second half as they outscored Logan 27-8 in the third quarter. They made 4 more threes in the final quarter to close out the win at 91-49.
The Panthers made 15 threes as a team during their big win. Jonathan Moss led the team in scoring with 3 threes and 21 points. DeAron Watkins had 2 threes to go along with his 16 points, and Ayden Ayer had 3 threes as part of his 15 points as well. Gage Phelps made a single three pointer to go with his 13 points, and Houston Oberst made 3 threes as part of his 12 points on the night.
OCHS 58, Union Co. 50
Owensboro Catholic secured a 58-50 victory on the road against Union County.
OCHS held an early lead as they outscored Union 12-8 to start the game. The second quarter was even as both teams scored 15, and the halftime score sat with OCHS in the lead at 27-23. Union tied the game at 39 by the end of the third quarter as Catholic was outscored 16-12. The final quarter saw the Aces get the better of Union on defense as they held them back to win the game 58-50.
Leading the Aces in scoring was Luke Beickman who shot 5 of 7 on free throws as part of his 19 points. Solly Smith followed behind with 16 points.
Meade Co. 75, THS 37
Trinity hosted Meade County at home in a game that ended in a tough 75-37 loss.
The Raiders started the game off with success on offense as Hayden Aull’s 2 threes helped Trinity score 13 points to Meade’s 17. They fell behind in the second quarter as THS were outscored 19-8 to trail 36-21 at halftime. Trinity struggled to get past the Meade defense as they scored 16 in the second half while Meae extended their lead and took the win at 75-37.
Leading the Raiders in scoring was Aull with 3 threes and 15 points. Will Hernandez shot 3 of 3 on free throws as part of his 11 points on the night.
