Girls’ Basketball recap (Feb. 16): AHS, OCHS

Owensboro Catholic hosted Muhlenberg County at the Sportscenter while Apollo took to the road in their second to last regular season game against Grayson County. 

Grayson Co. 53, AHS 43

Apollo traveled to Grayson County where they were defeated 53-43. Individual stats for the E-gals are currently unavailable. They will host Madisonville-North Hopkins at home on Feb. 22 for their final regular season game.  

OCHS 88, Muhlenberg  Co. 44

Hailee Johnson had a 25-point performance to lead Owensboro Catholic in their big 88-44 win over Muhlenberg County.

The Lady Aces wasted no time getting started as they had 7 players contribute to their 26-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. They carried their momentum in the second quarter as they made 4 threes as part of their 32 points. OCHS led 58-24 at halftime. Catholic continued to extend their lead in the third quarter as they outscored Muhlenberg 18-12. They closed out the game at 88-44. 

Johnson’s 25 points and 4 threes led the Lady Aces in scoring. Jenna Krampe followed behind with 17 points. Deaney Cooper made 3 threes as part of her 16 points during the game. Taylor Mannahan had 2 threes to go along with her 10 points as well.
