Jacqueline Ruth Janoski

May 25, 1938 - February 26, 2019

Jacqueline “Jackie” Ruth Janoski, 80, of Owensboro, calmly passed away in her sleep in the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky on February 26, 2019 after a long illness. She was born in Michigan City, Indiana on May 25, 1938. Jackie had a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Astro Physics from Ball State University. She spent her career with multiple companies in the aerospace industry, as well as a significant number of years with the Department of Defense, assisting in the development of the B-2 Bomber. Her career took her across the U.S. from Annapolis, MD, to Los Angeles, CA, to Arlington, IL, and to Norwalk, CT.

Jackie was predeceased by her parents, Ed & Ruth Janoski. She is survived by her sister, Suzanne Blakey (Mark) of Bonita, CA and brother, Ed Janoski (Pam) of Owensboro, KY. She has five nieces and nephews, Emily Janoski-Haehlen (OH), Michael Janoski (NJ), Katie Janoski (KY), Marni Gooding (CA) and Jason Blakey (CA); and five great-nieces.

Jackie enjoyed writing, painting, gardening and being with her cat, Shiloh. She enjoyed visiting numerous nursing homes with her cats as therapy for the residents.

Memorials can be given to the Faith Lutheran Church. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, February 28th at 6 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 2830 Frederica Street by Pastor Jane Rothman. James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
