
Eva Pryor 93, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun. Eva Layne Carter was born August 3, 1930 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Clate and Goldie Evans Carter and was married to Joseph Ivo Pryor. Eva lived a full and vibrant life that touched the hearts of many.
Eva’s work ethic and sense of duty were evident throughout her career. She retired as a dedicated housekeeper from both the former Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Owensboro and the Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun. Her hard work and reliability left a lasting impression on her colleagues and those she served.
Beyond her professional life, Eva was a member of her community. She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Calhoun, where she enjoyed fellowship and service with her fellow parishioners.
Eva’s interests were centered around the joy of companionship. She relished the time spent with her family and friends, and she held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. Eva’s presence at family gatherings was a source of comfort and happiness, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Ivo Pryor, who died March 8, 1994, by her brother and four sisters.
Eva is survived by three sons, Wesley Pryor of Sacramento, John Pryor, and Joe Pryor (Delena) both of Calhoun; two daughters, Martine Ray of Sacramento and Julie Pryor of Buel; five grandsons, Tim Ray (Lisa), Kevin Ray, Nathan Pryor (Candice), Dylan Pryor, Jacob Tyler; two great-granddaughters, Brinlee Pryor and Harper Jo Pryor; and two sisters, Wilma Fenwick of Owensboro and Margaret Bailey of Austintown, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, January 29, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Eva’s family from 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. Monday at Musters in Calhoun.
