Owensboro Catholic are now going 11 games strong as they added another win to their streak after beating Grayson County 69-54 on the road. This win comes ahead of their start to the All “A” State Tournament on Jan. 25th where they will hope to continue this momentum.
Owensboro Catholic started off slow as Grayson were able to gain a 16-10 lead by the end of the first quarter. Catholic came out and got their offense into high gear as 7 different players contributed to the Aces’ 26 points in the quarter. With Grayson being held to just 11 in the quarter, OCHS went into halftime with a 36-27 lead. The Aces kept up their momentum in the second half as Tutt Carrico’s 10 points in the third quarter helped OCHS outscore Grayson 19-14. As a team Catholic converted 7 out of 8 free throws as part of their 14 points in the final quarter, and they closed out the game at 69-54.
Luke Bieckman and Carrico combined for 45 points and 6 threes among the two of them to lead the charge for the Aces. Beickman scored 23 points with 3 three pointers while Carrico scored 22 along with 2 threes. Both players also shot 100% at the free throw line with Beickman shooting 3 of 3 and Carrico shooting 4 of 4.
