John Shepherd Jr., 86, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born December 3, 1937 in Philpot to the late John Clyde Shepherd and Della Duke Shepherd. John was the last surviving sibling of a family of eight children. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was in construction and built over 1,000 homes. He was well-known for his skills at the pool table and loved to fish and hunt.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Shelton and Tamela Shepherd; and three grandchildren, Edward Cody Shepherd, Tia Shelton, and Lake Shelton.
Private service will be held at Bethabara Baptist Church Cemetery. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
