Robert Allan Canary, 54, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was born February 11, 1969 in Daviess County to Shirley Ann Bowlds Vanover and the late Raymond Earl Canary. Allan worked from 20 years at Kimberly Clark. He was a member of the Sunset Cruisers, “S” Series Truck Club, Canary’s Hot Rod Car Club, and the Plaza Car Club. Allan loved hot rods and classic cars and was a “Hot Rod Daddy”. He was an avid UK fan.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Melvin Carl Vanover; and a brother, Baby Donnie.
Survivors include his son, William “Willie” Canary (Niki); mother, Shirley Vanover; brother, Raymond “Curtis” Canary (Stephanie); sisters, Becky Jolly (Jay) and Tammy Johnson (Troy) of Coring, Arkansas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation is from noon until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
