Beddie Evans Carmon

Bedie Evans Carmon, 84, of Owensboro, died Friday, January 5″, 2024, at her residence. She was born November 16, 1939, in Ohio County to the late Arlen Evans and Julie Daugherty Evans. She retired from the Daviess County Public Schools where she worked at Apollo High School in the cafeteria. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist church for 54 years. Foremost she loved her family, cooking for them and playing with the children. She enjoyed BINGO at the Senior Center and luncheons with her Life Spring Group and 55+ Church Group. Bedie was a devoted wife, mother, caring aunt, and cherished friend. She was known for her heart of gold, always putting others first, offering a listening ear and warm hugs, and she lived for the happiness of those around her.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Richard Carmon, Jr., in 2006 and siblings Ollie Bratcher, Gracie Brown, Vada Kiper, Wesley Evans, Ruby Smith, Curtis Evans, and Dorothy Vessels.

She is survived by a son, Richard Byron (Kim) Carmon of Owensboro; two daughters, Patsy Eldean (Wayne) Napier of Owensboro and Monta Lisa (Charles) Vanover of Philpot; five grandchildren, Brad (Katie) Napier, Aaron (Mary Jo) Vanover, Ashley (Matthew) McDonald, Alex (Alissa) Carmon and Nicole (Easton) Russelburg; seven great-grandchildren, Anna Napier, Micah Napier, Mason Russelburg, Liam McDonald, Joseph Vanover, Oliver Carmon and Paxton Russelburg.

Services are at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the James H Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro, and will be live streamed at www.davisfuneralhome.com. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 11:00 on Wednesday at the funeral home.
