
Betty Haines 90, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Lincoln Hills of New Albany. Betty Carol Baldwin was born January 7, 1933 in Island, Kentucky to the late Leslie Wilson and Eleanor Elizabeth Drake Baldwin and was married to Alva Earl Haines on December 31, 1956. Betty was a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend that lived a full and vibrant life, marked by her devotion to her family and her faith.
Throughout her life, Betty embraced the role of a homemaker with grace and enthusiasm. She was the loving matriarch and her commitment to her family was her highest priority.
Betty’s life was further enriched by her faith. As a member of the Baptist faith, she found comfort and guidance in her beliefs, which she shared generously with those around her.
In her leisure time, Betty found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed working crossword puzzles that provided countless hours of enjoyment.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Earl Haines, who died August 15, 1992 and a grandson Michael Curtis.
Betty’s legacy is carried on by her devoted family. She is survived by her daughters, Sabrina Bowling (Jess) of Shepherdsville, Kentucky and Tanya Curtis (Keith Moser) of Grandview, Indiana; her three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great great grandchild, and two sisters, Sue Duncan and Shanan Spalding both of Owensboro and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 29, 2023 at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Burial will be in the Sacramento Baptist Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Betty’s family from 11:30 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Friday at Musters in Livermore.
