Jerry Lynn Tyler was born January 7, 1960 in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Roy Tyler, Jr., and Ollievet Trice Tyler James.
Jerry confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Owensboro, Kentucky.
Jerry was retired at the time of his death, but last worked at Western State Hospital. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching television with his favorite shows being Gunsmoke and Price is Right. He deeply loved and cherished his family. He and a cousin are credited in starting the first family reunion in the 80s for the descendants of his late father and aunt which continues to this day.
He departed this life on Saturday, December 23, 2023.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepfather LeRoy James, a brother Terry Tyler and sister Annetta Tyler.
He will be sorely missed by his loving family and leaves to mourn, but celebrate his Victory in Christ, his two children, Jerry Babbage of Delray Beach, FL and Princess Wimsatt of Evansville, IN, a grandson Connor Babbage, four brothers Roy (Janie) Tyler, III, of Hopkinsville, KY, Daris “Geno” (Geneva) Tyler, Donnie Tyler, Kenneth (Jill) Higgs, all of Owensboro, KY, six sisters Sue (Jerry) Hanley and Pauletta (Norris) Rascoe of Hopkinsville, KY, Jonita McNeely, Virginia (Malcom) Glover, LaTasha (Kerry) Gant, all of Indianapolis, IN, and Viola (James) Guynn, Columbus, GA, host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, a devoted friend LuAnna Hunt as well as other friends.
