Owensboro Catholic secured a win to close out the Queen of the Commonwealth tournament while Apollo, Daviess County and Trinity were defeated. Trinity fell on the road to Murray 48-13. Individual stats are currently unavailable.
Green Co. 56, AHS 43
Apollo lost 56-43 against Green County in their final game in the Rafferty’s Double Dogs Caveland Classic. Apollo fell behind early after the first quarter ended 16-11. AHS put up a good scoring effort, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap and they were defeated 56-43.
Leading the E-gals in scoring was Jenna Dant with 16 points. Following behind was Taraya Thompson with 8 points.
Evansville Reitz 52, DCHS 31
Daviess County fell to Evansville Reitz 52-31 in their final game in the Independence Bank Kentucky-Indiana Classic. DCHS fell behind early at the end of the first quarter at 13-7. They fell further behind as they were outscored 21-11 in the second quarter. They couldn’t claw their way back and were defeated 52-31.
Leading the Lady Panthers in scoring was Kennedy Lane with 12 points. Zoey Beehn and Briley Henry had the next highest points with 6 each.
OCHS 69, Corbin 63
Owensboro Catholic won their final game in the Queen of the Commonwealth tournament 69-63 against Corbin. Catholic started the game trailing 24-16 at the end of the first quarter. Corbin held onto their lead to go into halftime at 41-33. OCHS then closed the gap in the third quarter by outscoring Corbin 16-9 to put the score at 50-49. The Lady Aces grabbed the win from under Corbin by outscoring them 20-13 in the final quarter to win 69-63.
