Apollo and Owensboro Catholic competed in the Rafferty’s/Double Dogs Caveland Classic and the Queen of the Commonwealth tournaments respectively. Catholic came out with a win while Apollo suffered a defeat.
Paducah Tilghman 37, AHS 26
Jennifer Lee had a double-double in Apollo’s 37-26 defeat against Paducah Tilghman. Lee led the E-gals in scoring with 10 points and in rebounds with 13. Taraya Thompson had the next highest points with 8 along with 6 rebounds.
OCHS 65, Taylor Co. 50
Owensboro Catholic had three players score in the double digits to help them win 65-50 over Taylor County in their second game of the Queen of the Commonwealth Classic. The first half saw both teams even as Catholic had a 13-12 lead at the end of the first quarter, and a 25-22 lead at halftime. They ran away with the lead in the second half after scoring 19 points to Taylors’ 9 in the third quarter. They held onto their lead in the final quarter to win 65-50.
Hailee Johnson led the Lady Aces in scoring with 19 points. Jenna Krampe followed close behind with 17 points on the night, and Katie Hagan had 10 points as well.
