
Marjorie C. (Lomax) Huff, 91, of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away on December 18, 2023, at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 5, 1932, in Muhlenberg County, to the late Clarence and Edna Smith Coe. Marjorie worked at GE for many years and then later for MPD where she retired from.
Marjorie enjoyed cross-stitching, crocheting, and dancing with the “Young at Heart Club.” She also enjoyed completing word search puzzles. Marjorie was affectionately known as the “coal miner’s daughter” and a “firecracker baby.”
Along with her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her second husband, Bernard Huff; her children’s father, James R. Lomax; and her brothers, Morris Coe, Bill Coe, and Jimmy Coe.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Dorothy) Lomax, David (Chris) Lomax, Jeff (Debra) Lomax, all of Owensboro, and Junie (David) Wright of Evansville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Thompson and Frankie Coe; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Out of respect, the family requests that no cell phones be used during visiting hours.
