Shannon Miller wants to help clients raise a unique glass with her new business Blonde & Boozie, a mobile bar service focusing on custom spirits and party planning.
Miller — currently an Owensboro resident but a native of Knoxville, Tennessee — said that with her exposure to Nashville, she always brainstormed what she could bring to Owensboro. One idea turned out to be the traveling bartending business.
Before obtaining her bartending license recently, Miller said she mostly spent her time as a friend who loved making cocktails for others and reading up on recipes she came across during her travels.
Now that she has her license, she said the thing that separates her the most from other traditional bar services is how she leans into the party planning and coordinating with the event. Her mobile bar is a neutral wood color, she said, which makes it flexible to fit any festivity.
From there, she adorns the bar with other decorations that fit and complement the space before crafting cocktails, or mocktails, that add to the experience.
“Doing the mobile bartending, it just kind of collaborated wanting to feed people, serve people, and party plan,” she said.
One of Miller’s most recent events was her daughter’s Taylor Swift-themed party. She worked on creating drinks — mocktails for those underaged — that fit the theme, complete with crafty titles such as “Lavender Haze,” matching Swift’s single by the same name.
“I’m really creative, and I love putting personal touches on things. So I want everyone that hires me to really use that to their advantage,” Miller said.
Miller also said she tries her best to make the drinks visually appealing, whether that’s a floating orange peel or crushed peppermint lining the rim like the salt of a margarita.
Miller has always seen herself as an adventurous type, saying there isn’t much she wouldn’t try to ensure the event is exactly what the person is looking for.
In addition to the drinks, Miller offers champagne Jell-O shots, a champagne wall, and a bar cart.
Miller said at the core of Blonde & Boozie, she hopes to bring the fun as everyone’s favorite person at the party — the bartender.
“Who doesn’t like parties, and that is the best part about the whole thing is that you’re always going to a party where people are going to be happy, and people are going to be happy to see you,” Miller said.
