Tonja Simpson, 51, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away on December 17, 2023. She was born January 16, 1972, in Hardinsburg, Kentucky to Eddie Owen Burnette and Saundra Hinton.
Tonja enjoyed beadwork, coloring, fishing, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She loved music, mostly rock and country. She also appreciated Native American artwork and culture.
Tonja was preceded in death by her grandfather, Virgil Hinton; grandmother, Alma Burnette and step-grandfather, James Pugh.
Along with her parents, Tonja is survived by her husband, Dewayne Simpson; children, Zackery Simpson (Fiancé, Tesla) and Cassaundra (husband, Christopher) Brown; grandchildren, Kaylee, Madison, Sophie, Bella, Serenity, Cayden, Maveryck, Iris, and Bristol; and her grandmother Nellie “Mom Mom” Pugh.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
