CENTERTOWN-Richard “Ricky” Maddox, 78, of Centertown died Sunday December 17, 2023 at Chautauqua Health and Rehab in Owensboro. Ricky was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Elbert Crowe and Mary Kay Hill Maddox. Ricky worked for Peabody Coal and was a member of UMWA. Ricky was an avid race fan and loved cars, trucks and anything with wheels on it. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Maddox and a son-in-law, James Via.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Ford Maddox; a son, Kurt DeWayne Maddox(Heather); a daughter, Melody Denise Via; a brother, Kenny Maddox(Billie), a sister, Vale Rhea Maddox Durham; 2 grandchildren, Warren K. Maddox(Shannon) and Grace Maddox West(Mike); 3 great grandchildren, Elle West, Brianne West & Bradley West.
There will be a memorial service held for Ricky at a later date. Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is in charge of arrangements.
