Girls’ Basketball recap (Dec. 18): DCHS, OHS, THS

Daviess County and Owensboro both secured victories on the road while Trinity fell to Warren East. 

DCHS 53, McLean Co. 27

Kennedy Lane had a standout 28-point performance in Daviess County’s 53-27 win over McLean. The Lady Panthers had a firm grip over the game early as they gained a 15-5 lead by the end of the first quarter. They did not let up in scoring and finished at 53-27. 

Lane’s 28 points led DCHS in scoring. Lane made an impressive 6 three-pointers as part of her 28 points. Following behind her was Lily Hoagladn with 13 points and 3 three-pointers. 

OHS 69, Grayson Co. 36

Owensboro had three players score double digits in points in their 69-36 win over Grayson. OHS quickly established a 20-8 lead that continued to grow on. Owensboro held the lead until full time at 69-36.

The three players that led the Lady Red Devils in scoring were Shalyn Sprinkles leading with 18 points, and A’Lyrica Hughes and Heleina John both had 15 points each. Abby Sapp also had all 9 of her points come from her shooting 3 of 3 on three-pointers.

Warren East 87, THS 41

Trinity scored a season high 41 points in their 87-41 defeat against Warren East. THS trailed 14-9 at the end of the first quarter. Trinity fell too far behind to catch up and fell 87-41. 

Kenzie McDowell led the Lady Raiders in scoring with 15 points. Following behind was Sarah Payne with 11 points.
