CENTRAL CITY – Berta J. Devine, 84, of Central City, died Friday, December 15, 2023 at 5:48AM at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro. Berta was born November 2, 1939 in Hanson, KY. She was a retired BellSouth HR Manager. When her grandson couldn’t pronounce her name properly, he started calling her “Mogger”. From then on she was known as “Mogger” to all those close to her. She enjoyed tennis, snow skiing, travelling, and in her older age golf cart rides with her granddaughter. She also loved animals and the outdoors. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Garnette Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Devine; daughter, Jan Palmer; grandchildren, John Palmer (Jenna Brashear), and Katie Palmer; great-grandchildren, Cormac Palmer; and brother, Jerry (Becky) Johnson.
