The 2024-25 academic calendar for Owensboro Public Schools was approved Thursday. Classes are scheduled to begin on August 7 and end on May 20.
Daviess County Public Schools approved their nearly identical calendar in November. The full OPS calendar can be found below. The important dates are as follows:
- August 7: First day for students
- September 2: Labor Day
- September 20: Professional Day (No school for students)
- October 7-11: Fall Break
- November 5: Election Day (No school for students)
- November 27-29: Thanksgiving Break
- December 19-January 3: Winter Break
- January 6: Professional Day Flex Day (No school for students)
- January 7: School resumes
- January 20: MLK, Jr. Day
- February 7: Professional Day (No school for students)
- February 17: Parent/teacher conference (No school for students)
- March 28-April 4: Spring Break
- May 20: Last day for students
Makeup days for OPS will take place in the following order: May 21-23 and May 27-30.
