Margaret Jewel Lawson, age 93 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away December 13, 2023 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She was born in Lexington, KY on January 20, 1930, daughter of the late Elizabeth Gay and Preston Maupin. Jewel was a homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Hardinsburg United Methodist Church where she was very involved with church activities. She was also a member of the Breckinridge County Homemakers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Paul, her husband of 68 years; her daughter Teri Miller, her siblings Delphia Merdia, Frank Maupin, Marilyn Jones and Gene Maupin.
Jewel is survived by her daughter Suzanne Lawson of Hardinsburg, KY

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10 am with burial in the Hayesville Cemetery in Lebanon, KY. Visitation will be held on Friday, 3:30 – 7 PM and Saturday, 8 – 10 AM.
