Lighthouse Recovery Services has launched its fourth annual bed sponsor fundraiser to support its men’s and women’s facilities, including Sandy’s House.

The fundraiser aims to raise money for essential items needed for the care of clients in the program. A $100 donation to sponsor a bed contributes to a safe and sober environment for men and women rebuilding their lives. Donations of any amount will help cover overhead expenses such as maintenance, building repairs, kitchen and cleaning supplies, office materials, and personal hygiene items.

As a nonprofit organization, Lighthouse Recovery Services offers an 18-month program for individuals struggling with substance abuse, including 6 months of residential care and 12 months of non-residential aftercare. The program focuses on providing safe housing, mentoring, and assistance, aiming to help individuals become free from drug and alcohol dependency while rebuilding their lives personally and within the community.

Lighthouse Recovery Director Shawna Moore said they do not accept any insurance or any other government assistance.

“Our mission is to help men and women in a mentoring and monitoring program that helps to restore their lives and the lives of their families,” she said. “Through education and oversight, the program attempts to break the cycle of substance abuse and addiction, drug-related crimes, and incarceration.  This has a tremendous impact not only on our client’s lives but also within our community.”

Moore said donations give clients hope that recovery is possible and continued hope to them and their families that life can change for the better.
