John’s greatest accomplishments and pride were his children and grandchildren. He never missed an opportunity to tell them how proud he was of them and to tell them individually that they were his “hero”. However, his work ethic, service to country, and love for his family were what made him the true hero. John was always an advocate for all those that have served their country in the armed services, but especially for the POW’s who never returned. His service was honored with the support and care in his last few years by the wonderful staff at Western KY VA Center, in Hanson KY.
Visiting hours are 9:00am-11:00am on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Cecil Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be at 11:30am on Saturday at St. Williams Catholic Church with a military burial following at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
