The Brescia University men’s basketball team had a record-breaking night in their first regular season win over UHSP. The Bearcats as a team broke their record for the largest win margin and points scored in a single game, and Ksuan Casey broke the record for most points scored in a single game.

Four Bearcats reached double-figure points in the offensive dominance over the Eutectics of UHSP. This matchup started out neck-and-neck as both teams traded shots for the lead. Casey would start his historic night with his first layup in the paint for the and-one at the 14:40 mark. With the three-point lead, Taeron Hogg and Casey would add on to it with back-to-back layups. At the end of the first half, the Bearcats would lead the Eutectics 55-46 as UHSP attempted to cut the BU lead.

At the start of the second half, the Eutectics showed life as they got within just three of the Bearcat lead. Casey would score the next six points for BU as his teammates fed him the ball. A missed three-pointer by UHSP would lead to another Casey layup as he gets fouled for the extra point giving the Bearcats a 11-point lead. The Brescia defense kept the UHSP shooters from scoring for three straight minutes as they continued to stretch the lead further from the Eutectics.

The Bearcats took the win, 130-90, which is the teams’ largest victory margin and points scored in a single game since the 2016-17 season when BU lost 140-124 to Asbury. Ksuan Casey broke the single game scoring record by 14 with 52 points. Casey also records a double-double with 10 rebounds as Hogg follows behind with 25 points and nine rebounds. Anthony Lopez and Camden Pfeister combined for 25 points, 10 assists, 11 rebounds, and eight steals on the night.

The Bearcats won’t take the court again until after Thanksgiving break when they take on conference opponent, IU-Southeast, on Tuesday, Nov. 28th at home at 7:30pm.
