A few local cheer squads earned bids to nationals after competing in the UCA Bluegrass Regional Cheer Competition over the weekend.
College View Middle School
College View Middle School placed fifth in Small Middle School Game Day to earn their bid.
Burns Middle School
Burns Middle School placed first in Large Middle School Game Day Non-Tumbling and second in Non-Tumbling Traditional to advance to nationals in multiple divisions.
Daviess County High School
Daviess County High School placed first in Super Varsity Game Day and also earned a bid for nationals with their Small Varsity Traditional Routine.
Apollo High School
Apollo’s all-female team earned two bids to nationals after they placed first in the Large Varsity Non-Tumbling Traditional division and third in the Large Varsity Non-Tumbling Game Day division. The school’s co-ed team placed third in both Small Varsity Co-ed Game Day and Small Varsity Co-ed Traditional, earning bids for both routines to compete at nationals.
The National High School Cheerleading Competition will be held in February in Orlando.
