Robert Truman Henry, 78, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. The Daviess County native was born July 25, 1945, as one of twelve children to the late William and Nannie Maglinger Henry. Robert graduated from Owensboro Senior High School, class of 1963. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in communications while stationed in South Korea. Robert was a firefighter with the Owensboro Fire Department and achieved the rank of Lieutenant before retirement. He created and co-hosted the retirement dinners for the fire department. Robert was an avid sports fan and coached both Little League and Babe Ruth ball teams. He also enjoyed reading and listening to Oldies music.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by all his siblings.
He is survived by his three children, Ryan Henry (Hannah Corbett), Jeremy Henry (Jessica), and Sarah Quinn (Josh), all of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Kaden White and Matthew Quinn; a multitude of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm and Sunday from noon until the time of the service.
