The Brescia University women’s basketball team came up short in an 86-79 overtime loss to Alice Lloyd, while the men lost 87-68 in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader at home.

The teams will both return to action Tuesday when they host Midway University in a doubleheader starting at 5:30 p.m.

WOMEN
Aaliyah Rogers posted a double-double for the Lady Bearcats (7-17, 5-8), who hung close but came up just short against Alice Lloyd.

After trailing by 6 points at the half, Brescia started the third quarter hot and built a 7-point lead with 2:56 to go in the period. Alice Lloyd fought back to go up by 1 heading into the fourth quarter.

Rogers led the team with 14 points and added 10 rebounds. Alicia Salazar scored 13, Catherine Dunn had 12 and Hannah Saltman finished with 11. Cassidy Moss scored 9 points to go along with 12 rebounds.

MEN
It was a slow start for the Bearcats (12-11, 9-5), who fell behind 54-25 by halftime. They cut into the deficit in the second half but it wasn’t enough to threaten Alice Lloyd. It marks the fourth loss in the last five game for Brescia.

Kayode Daboiku scored 25 points and had 8 rebounds. Dillon Geralds also had 8 rebounds to go along with 9 rebounds. Zach McDaniel and Tristen Murray both finished with 16 points.
