Gwendolyn Jane “Gwen” Midkiff, 77, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born November 18, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Ted and Ruby Hoover Midkiff. Gwen had worked as an office manager for the construction company her husband operated for many years. She was an avid reader, a brilliant mind and loved crappie fishing, cooking, and sewing. She had won awards for her dresses and wedding gown creations. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, friends, and her Shepard’s Hand co-workers (an organization she helped found.)
She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 58 years, Terry Midkiff; children, Chris (Amy) Midkiff and Kari (Kevin) Clark; grandchildren, Lindsey and Jack Midkiff, Tyler (Rachel) Clark, Wade (Leslie) Clark; great grandchildren, Ellie, Juda, and Elizabeth; a sister, Mary Jewell Oost; a sister-in-law, Dottye (Robert) Gilbert; cousin, Jeanne Lamb; and several nieces, nephews, and other family.
Services will be private with care entrusted to Cardinal Cremation Society.
