
William Lee “Gravy/Bill” Berry, Jr. age 94 of Glen Dean, KY passed away September 27, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Glen Dean, KY on January 22, 1929, son of the late Nancy Skaggs and William Lee Berry, Sr. William was a member of Goshen Baptist Church, a retired machinist with Commonwealth Aluminum and a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. His favorite past time was mowing – he kept nearly all of Glen Dean mowed and trimmed. Dancing was another thing he enjoyed and spent most weekends with friends doing what they loved. William was known for making the best peanut brittle and sharing with his family and friends. He was also quite the jokester and kept those around him laughing. He always looked for the best in everyone and was a good friend to many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Emogene Henderson Berry, 3 sons – Gary Thomas, Bobby Joe and Charles William Berry, his siblings – Marjorie Duggins, Mary Preston and Johnnie Berry.
William is survived by 2 children – Barbara (Gayle) Berry of Mt. Dora, FL and Cecil (Sheila) Berry of Louisville, KY
1 daughter-in-law – Jennifer Berry of Hardinsburg, KY
5 grandchildren – Chris Berry, Sherrie (Kenneth) French, Jenna Bruce, Bradley Berry and Grayson Berry
2 step grandchildren – Jennifer Javorowsky and April Stutzman
10 great grandchildren – Drake, Hunter and Case Bruce; Waylon Fields; Emma, Audrey, Cailey and Joely Berry; Wade and Paige French
5 step great grandchildren – Meaghan Jackson, Autumn and Nick Javorowsky, Jordan and Peyton Javorowsky
1 step great great grandchild – Finn Jackson
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 12 PM with burial in the Glen Dean Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, 4-7 PM and Monday after 8:30 AM. All times are central.
