The Party Space Place (TPSP) – one of Owensboro’s premiere event venues – will celebrate its 3rd anniversary from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday. The celebration comes at the perfect time, as the company is unveiling its newest space, Bayside.
While TPSP offers an intimate micro-venue with a capacity for 80 guests, Bayside can seat up to 150 guests with room for more and features a bar, waterfront view, and a bridal suite. Owners Allyson and Marshall Sanders said the new space aligns with their desire to thrive, not survive.
“We opened during the pandemic, and people thought we were crazy,” Allyson Sanders said. “We made it, and we said from day one that we wanted to go beyond survival and thrive. We had the building to ourselves for a year and a half. Other businesses came to check it out, but it stayed empty.”
Located in the old Shogun location at 5010 Wildcat Way, Sanders said she and her family poured a lot of sweat equity into Bayside to have it ready for the public. They also partnered with local construction teams to convert the spot into a desirable and practical space.
“It took everything in me to decide to lease the space,” she said. “We spoke with the owner and explained what we wanted to do, and after providing a vision to the construction teams, we cleaned the space out.”
The three-year celebration has been on hold due to the availability of the venues. Sanders said they have already hosted seven weddings, multiple receptions, and birthday parties at the new space.
The Sanders take great pride in supporting local businesses, especially their fellow neighbors on Wildcat Way.
“We love our neighbors; we’ve become our own little family within the community,” she said. “We live for local. It’s been a priority since we opened our doors. We use local caterers, DJs and bar services, regularly offering our customers discounts.”
Sanders is also part-owner of Something Borrowed, a business that rents photo booths, furniture, backdrops, bounce houses, and more. Because of this, she says they can offer a turnkey solution for various party needs.
She added that most of their partners would attend the celebration, a testament to their commitment to the community.
“Our partners have been instrumental in making our venue pop,” she said. “We can’t wait to celebrate with them and the rest of the community.”
