Senator Matt Castlen will visit Tamarack Elementary School at 1 p.m. Monday, to speak to fourth-grade students about government.

Teacher Gabrielle Yeckering said fourth-graders have been learning about the Revolutionary War, Declaration of Independence, and how the United States government works as part of their social studies and language arts classes. As part of their commitment to providing meaningful learning experiences for students, Tamarack invited Sen. Castlen, a graduate of Daviess County High School, to speak to the class about his work and factors involved in his decision to become a senator. Students will have an opportunity to ask Sen. Castlen about his work in Congress and the impact it has on the state.

Castlen, a Republican representing District 8 in the Kentucky Senate, also served as a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives (District 14) from 2017-18. Committees on which he has served in the legislature include agriculture, natural resources and environment, and small business and information technology.
