OHS basketball teams drop doubleheader on road

The Owensboro girls’ and boys’ basketball teams both came up short on the road with a doubleheader against Madisonville-North Hopkins. The girls lost 77-47, while the boys fell 78-61.

BOYS
A 26-point fourth quarter wasn’t enough for the Red Devils (11-7), who couldn’t keep pace with the Maroons (14-6) early.

Owensboro was led in scoring by Amari Wales with 11 points, and they got scoring from 11 different players. The Devils trailed 13-6 after the first quarter and 39-22 at halftime.

GIRLS
The Lady Devils (8-11) also fell behind and were not able to hang with the Lady Maroons (14-6).

Amaya Curry scored 19 and Tayonna Greer added 17 for Owensboro, who faced a 26-10 deficit after the first quarter.
