The RiverPark Center announced that it will be managed by Oak View Group 360 (OVG360), the game group that operates the Owensboro Convention Center and Sportscenter, in the interim following the departure of former Executive Director Rich Jorn.
RPC Board Chair Scott McCain said in a release that the board is “excited about this new phase of growth and innovation and the continuation of positive disruption and change necessary in this challenging climate for performing arts venues, including Riverpark Center.”
McCain said the management plan is a short-term solution.
“While the partnership with OVG is presently an interim solution, we will be actively pursuing and discussing a longer-term plan. The plan will always be to preserve, protect, and sustain Riverpark Center out into the future by installing leadership and management that builds upon our foundation of artistic excellence and community collaboration,” McCain said.
According to McCain, the RPC board contacted OVG360 for the partnership.
“Our primary focus has always been on nurturing artistic creativity, fostering community engagement, and delivering exceptional experiences to all our patrons,” he said. “We would like to clarify that this direction in leadership was motivated by our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of excellence and ensuring the continued success of Riverpark Center.”
McCain said while Jorn has “departed” the board appreciated his efforts at RPC.
“We sincerely appreciate the contributions, dedication, and hard work he extended to Riverpark Center during his tenure. We are committed to Riverpark’s strategic direction and operational needs with our new interim manager OVG 360. We understand as with any organization that new leadership can bring growth and adaptation and will further allow us to realign our efforts and bring fresh perspectives to the forefront,” McCain said.
The RPC still commits to improving the quality of life through hosting diverse arts and civic events and focusing on arts in education, according to the release.
