Garrett Payne Weisser

May 7, 1997 - August 29, 2023

Garrett Weisser

Garrett Weisser  26,  Garrett Payne Weisser, a beloved son, brother, and father, passed away at his home in Calhoun, Kentucky, on July 29, 2023.  Born on May 7, 1997, in Owensboro, Kentucky, Garrett was known for his kind heart, unmatched wit and deep love for his family and friends.  He was preceded in death by both of his grandfathers, Steve Crawford and Jerry Payne, in 2009.

Garrett was a 2015 graduate of McLean County High School and had the opportunity to work with his life-long friend in autobody repair and mechanics.  Garrett loved racecars, 4-wheelers and dirt bikes, all which provided the adrenaline rush that he enjoyed.

Yet, Garrett was not defined solely by his interests.  He was a kind and loving person, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.  He had a gift for making people laugh and for bringing light into the lives of those around him.  His love for his family and friends was profound and unwavering.  He was an affectionately overprotective brother and loved his sisters dearly.  However, he was particularly devoted to his son.

Eight years ago, Garrett fell head over heels in love with a beautiful blue-eyed baby boy, Remington Kole.  Remi was his mini-me, his best friend and his most proud accomplishment.  He and Remi shared a love for all things that had a motor and went fast.  They also enjoyed spending time practicing baseball in the backyard but most of all, they loved to snuggle with each other.

Garrett’s memory will forever be cherished by his loved ones and those he touched with his giving heart and radiant smile.  Thank you for the light and love you brought into our lives. Rest easy, Bub.

Garrett is survived by his son, Remington Kole Weisser; his parents, Garey and Leigh Ann Payne Weisser of Calhoun; his grandmothers, Annie Crawford of Calhoun and Becky Payne of Owensboro; his sisters, Macey Weisser (Hunter Lyons) of Custer, Kentucky and Avery Weisser of Calhoun; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 4, 2023 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Dr. Richard Sams officiating.  Friends may visit with Garrett’s family from 12:00 P.M. (noon) until 2:00 P.M. Friday at Musters in Calhoun.
