The Owensboro Health Community Health Investments Grant Program provides financial assistance to nonprofit organizations and governmental or public entities working to address identified community health priorities based on local community health needs assessments or community health improvement plans.
The program awards grants to non-profit, public, or government organizations for specific programs and activities that address identified priority health issues and those social determinants of health that impact our community’s health and health outcomes. All activities must serve individuals within the defined Owensboro Health service area.
Owensboro Health seeks and supports partnerships to impact our communities’ significant health issues. As tobacco use is related to multiple health issues in our region and state, the program decided to invest in organizations committed to establishing and implementing 100 percent tobacco-free policies.
The application process for the 2023 Owensboro Health Community Health Investments Grant Program begins soon. Those interested can attend an overview of the grant program during a virtual presentation on Tuesday, July 25, or Wednesday, July 26.
Owensboro Health has invested more than $7 million in area agencies since 2011.
Owensboro Health’s President and CEO, Mark Marsh, said these grants are a crucial element to Owensboro Health fulfilling its mission to heal the sick and to improve the health of the communities we serve.
“These direct community investments allow us to reach beyond the walls of our health system and impact other areas that are key determinants to the health of our patients and community,” Marsh said. “By working together with community partners, we can accomplish even bigger goals to improve the health of our region. These partnerships are vital for a healthy and vibrant community.”
