Melissa ‘Mickey’ Willis 47, fondly known as “Mickey” by those who knew and loved her, was born on May 20, 1976, in Greenville, Kentucky. On the 19th day of July, 2023, Mickey peacefully passed away at her home in Livermore, Kentucky. Mickey was the beloved daughter of the late Harvey Earl and Ginger Faye Schindler Willis and the cherished sister of the late Debra Faye Willis and Nina Willis Bastin. She was also predeceased by her son, Thomas Conrad. In her lifetime, Mickey embraced the role of a homemaker, dedicating herself to the care and nurture of her family. She was a beacon of love, kindness, and warmth, filling her home with laughter, good food, and an abundance of love. Her home was a welcoming haven for all who knew her, reflecting her generous spirit and loving heart.
Mickey had a zest for life and a passion for collecting shot glasses and snow globes. Each piece in her collection held a story, a memory, that she loved to share with her family and friends. She also enjoyed riding her golf cart around town, her jovial spirit spreading cheer wherever she went.
Above all, Mickey cherished spending time with her family and friends, particularly her grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye. Her face would light up at their laughter, and she would often recount their latest antics and achievements with immense pride. She was their biggest cheerleader, their confidante, and their source of endless love and support.
We celebrate Mickey’s life, remembering her not with sadness, but with the joy and love she brought into our lives. Her legacy will continue to shine through her family and the countless lives she touched. Rest in peace, Mickey. You will forever be missed, but your memory will live on, a beacon of love and joy in our hearts.
Mickey is survived by her devoted husband of 19 years, John Mark Willis, and two sons, Traston Conrad of Livermore and Luke Willis (Reva) of Centertown. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren who brought immense joy and laughter into her life. Mickey is also survived by her brothers Doug Willis (LaDonna Calvert) of Island, David Willis (Lori Davis) of Sacramento, James Willis (Tracey) of Utica, and Josh Willis (Tabby) of Madisonville; and her sister, Lillie Davis (Jeff) of Island, also mourns her passing. Mickey’s family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
