Conard G. Barnes, 72, of Rockport, Kentucky went to his heavenly home on Monday, July 3, 2023, with his family by his side at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born October 2, 1950, in Greenville, Kentucky to the late James L. Barnes and Margaret Singleton Barnes. He retired from TVA and pastored Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for seven years. Mr. Barnes served in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Barnes of Rockport; two daughters, Michele (Jonathan) Grant of Mayfield and Angel Himes (Danny Burrell) of Rockport; five grandchildren, Brittini (Tyler) Farris, Hunter (Abby) Grant, Trevor (Maggie) Grant, Jakob Himes (Jessica Bruner) and Mason Grant; four great-grandchildren, Neely Grant, Beau Grant, Avery Farris and Tanner Farris and one on the way; two fur babies, TT and KK; four brothers, Barry (Alta) Barnes of Rockport, Roger Barnes (Sue Richardson) of Greenville, Leroy (Gloria) Barnes of Rockport, and Tim (Nancy) Barnes of Owensboro; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, July 10, 2023, at William L. Danks Funeral Home with Jonathan Grant and Trevor Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Mason Cemetery in Rockport will full military honors provided by Ohio County Honor Guard. Friends may visit with Mr. Barnes’ family from 10 AM until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
