Founder Stephen Rose spent his high school years in Owensboro but grew up in Georgia. In 2010, he moved to Nashville but was disappointed that he couldn’t find the flavorful peaches he grew up loving in the Peach State.
In 2012, he decided to do something about it.
With his wife Jessica, he bought a ’64 Jeep truck and started selling Georgia peaches out of it.
In just a little more than a month, patrons bought more than 10 tons of peaches and the two were in business.
According to The Peach Truck website, “When people experience fruit from The Peach Truck, they are astounded by the delicious difference between freshly-picked produce compared to the offerings at their grocery store. The truth is, today’s mainstream methods to harvest and distribute food rob us of Mother Nature’s natural flavors and nutrients.”
Along with the two stops in Owensboro, The Peach Truck also makes stops in nearly 30 states across the country.
