Sam’s Southern Eatery on West Parrish Avenue has announced they will be closing for good this Friday.
A post made Monday evening on the business Facebook page simply read, “We are very sad to announce that our last day will be Friday 6/23/23 we hope to see y’all before then we enjoyed it here in Owensboro thank you all for all your support.”
The restaurant opened in October 2020 in the former Hardee’s building at 2805 West Parrish Avenue. In March 2022, the owners at the time announced the business would soon be closing, citing slow business and rising costs. However, following the OT article about the decision to close, Sam’s received an outpouring of support that led the owners to announce they would reopen the restaurant following a temporary closure.
Just more than a year later, the new owners have again announced a permanent closure.
The restaurant offered a wide variety of menu options including seafood, burgers, chicken and gumbo, as well as Southern sides and appetizers.
