Though they were tied at halftime, the Daviess County boys’ basketball team couldn’t keep up in the second half Tuesday in a 79-63 home loss to Breckinridge County.
The Panthers (6-8) got 28 points from Dakota Walden, but they were outmatched by the Tigers (13-2) and Kobe Poole, who scored 36 points to become Kentucky’s all-time scoring leader. Poole now has 1,503 points, passing 1995 state champion Adam Mattingly’s 1,481.

Daviess County turned a 2-point deficit after one quarter into a 36-36 halftime tie, but Breckinridge County came out of the locker room hot. The Tigers earned a 10-point lead heading into the final period, and the Panthers couldn’t close the gap.
Daviess County will play again at 7:30 p.m. Friday when they travel to Ohio County.
